one day. And were there to help Maria complete funeral arrangements
and paperwork. And their K of C insurance helped her keep the house.

van. And financed the construction of an elevator at church. And
built a ramp next to stairs at home. So disabled people like Thomas

donated time and money to a home for teenage runaways. And a suicide
prevention program. And they sponsor a social group for young people
and a program to help kids talk to their parents. Because it's hard
growing up. And they'd like to make it a little easier.
Who cares that John isn't well?
The Knights of Columbus care. That's why they raised thousands
of dollars and provided transportation for a cancer patient who
needed treatment. They sponsor AIDS education programs. And do yardwork
for people who aren't able. They volunteer at Veterans Administration
medical facilities and simply visit with people who can't get out.
No one should have to face sickness alone.
Who cares that Terry doesn't learn as fast as Michael?
The Knights of Columbus care. That's why they
sponsor a sheltered workshop and group home for mentally retarded
people. And plan special outings and parties. And coach Special
Olympians. Because people like Terry deserve a chance to develop
at their own pace. And to succeed.
Who cares
that Carol can't pay her bills?
The Knights of Columbus care. So they threw a
pro-life baby shower to benefit poor mothers. They raised money
to build homes for impoverished families. And turned a warehouse
into a homeless shelter. And sponsored an Adopt-a-Family program.
So mothers like Carol can raise their family with dignity.
Who cares
that Meghan's birthmother almost had an abortion?
The
Knights of Columbus care. That's why they've provided counseling
for pregnant teens. And donated thousands of dollars to anti-abortion
campaigns. They've presented adoption as an alternative... so people
like Meghan might live. And Meghan's birthmother can go on with
her life, too.
Who cares that Justin is into cocaine?
The Knights of Columbus care. That's why they
volunteer in drug an alcohol programs. And they've provided a grant
to start a substance abuse treatment program. So kids like Justin
get the support they need... and a second chance at life.
Who cares that so many distractions make it difficult for the Gonzaleses
to spend time together as a family?
The Knights of Columbus care. So they held a
weekend family campout at the lake. And they help families find
the time to communicate through family support programs and share
their faith through communion breakfasts. Keeping families together
is a vital concern. Because it all starts with the family.
Who cares that Mrs. Curtis taught school for 42 years?
The Knights of Columbus care. So they volunteered
in retirement homes. And sponsor senior citizen's clubs. And provide
meal programs for the elderly. They know that Mrs. Curtis has had
an interesting life - they also know there's more life ahead for
her.

wistful breath... the Knights of Columbus are there. In communities
large and small, rural and urban. With programs, fundraising efforts,
and special projects that help people. Give them dignity. Offer
